Boughton House prepares for Easter

28th March, 2013

Boughton opens its doors this Easter bank holiday weekend with the public invited to stop by and visit the spectacular House and grounds.

It’s been an exciting week at the Estate with the granting of an events licence and plans announced for summer events.

Maurice Whitaker, Creative and Commercial Director at Boughton House, said of the licence: “We are very happy to be granted a licence which paves the way for our two big events this summer, Tough Mudder, which will be bigger than ever, and for those not inclined to put themselves through the pain of the course, makes a wonderful spectator sport!

“And in July Boughton House will host its first ever picnic concert in conjunction with the Oundle Festival. A relaxed evening of Jazz on the west lawn, with Courtney Pine.

“The licence also now allows us to start detailed discussions with a number of interested parties to host some exciting new events. But as licence holder our emphasis will be on bringing to Boughton good quality and well managed events which are consistent with our approach to both open up the House and its beautiful grounds to the local community, but also attract interesting projects to the region.”
