Open air Les Miserables Screening at Boughton House

1st June, 2013

Northamptonshire locals are being given the opportunity to watch one of the year’s biggest blockbusters at the location it was filmed.

Boughton House is hosting an open air screening of the award winning Les Miserables motion picture a year after the Universal production team filmed at the Estate.
Boughton’s grounds will be open to theatre goers to enjoy a picnic on the lawn as the sun sets before settling back to watch Tom Hoper’s breath taking screen adaption.

Chosen as a filming location for Les Miserables thanks to its French architectural style, Boughton doubled as the family home of one of the movie’s key characters, ‘Marius’ (played by Eddie Redmayne), and provides the setting for his wedding to ‘Cosette’ (Amanda Seyfried).

Charles Lister, Boughton House Property Manager, comments: “We are absoultely delighted to be offering the public such a unique experience, to relive this fabulous production at the place where it was filmed. We invite the audience to make the most of the setting by coming along early with their own picnic, however tickets are limited so for anyone interested please move quickly!”

The Les Miserables screening at Boughton will take place on 18 August with doors open from 6.30pm for picnics and the film starting at 8.30pm. The film’s running time is approxmiately 140 minutes and tickets costs £12.50/£8.50 in advance. To book tickets please visit www.summerscreens.co.uk/2013/08/les-miserables.
