A musical treat at Boughton

Enjoy the lovely music as acclaimed pianist Melvyn Tan performs a Schubert Impromptu in the Great Hall at Boughton House. We have been lucky enough to have him perform at Boughton on a number of occasions and were delighted to host him for both this delightful piece and also as special performance for the forthcoming Virtual Oundle Music Festival running from the 13th – 17th July.

This year with Covid19 causing the cancellation of thousands of events nationwide, Oundle International Festival have moved their efforts online for all to enjoy. The festival will take place 13-17 July at www.oundlefestival.org.uk and will feature the special performance by Melvyn Tan at Boughton House.

This five-day long online event will feature recorded and live material showcasing the range of work normally presented. Some of our performers have recorded videos especially for the Virtual Festival, while others have generously provided new or existing recordings for all to enjoy. Every day during the Virtual Festival, new material will be posted. The videos are all around 5-10 minutes.

One such performance will be by well-known pianist Melvyn Tan. The performance will be posted on Monday 13th July as part of the festivals opening day. The performance, Ständchen Franz Liszt piano transcription after Schubert.
