18th April, 2017

Boughton House played host to the official launch of Northamptonshire’s biggest event tourism campaign.

Devised by James Lowther, former creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi, Britain’s Best Surprise celebrates everything the county has to offer locals and visitors alike – including beautiful Boughton House, the home of the Duke of Buccleuch.

Guests were welcomed by the Duke of Buccleuch and H.M Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire David Laing officially unveiled the campaign in Boughton’s Great Hall in front of assembled media and invited guests on 27 March.

Charles Lister, Property Manager at Boughton House, said: “Northamptonshire is undoubtedly one of the nation’s most exquisite and heritage-filled destinations.

“From our beautiful stately homes, outstanding museums and historic churches, to the many green spaces, it really represents the heart of England at its best.

“And with some of the nation’s top theatre produced here by Royal and Derngate, many wonderful summer festivals and great sport at Silverstone, The Saints and The Cobblers, there’s so much to see and do.

“We were delighted to play host to the launch of this excellent new campaign and showcase Boughton as one of the county’s premier tourist attractions.”

The new campaign is being produced in partnership with the County Council, Lord Lieutenancy, University of Northampton, Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire Arts Management Trust (which manages Royal & Derngate and The Core at Corby Cube), the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum, Northamptonshire food and drink sector, plus all the county’s historic houses, sporting venues, gardens and churches.
