Boughton to mark National Gardens Scheme this October

Garden lovers have one final opportunity to enjoy the celebrated green spaces at Boughton Estate before the year is out.

Home to the Duke of Buccleuch, the Estate will open its garden gates on Sunday 21^st October in conjunction with the National Gardens Scheme, with a portion of the ticket proceeds being donated to charity.

Charles Lister, Property Manager at Boughton House, said: “Our summer opening season may have drawn to a close but there is one last chance to enjoy our splendid Gardens before their winter slumber.

“It’s a great time of year to visit the Estate, with an array of autumnal colours in the Gardens and plenty of opportunities to leaf peep with your little ones.

“Take in the sights of the upper Walled Garden, including our newest additions – the Wedding and Alpine Gardens – and enjoy a light bite in our 18^th century stable block tearooms.

“The opening will also help support a wonderful initiative by the National Gardens Scheme, providing financial backing to some much-loved charities.”

The Gardens at Boughton House will open between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 21^st October. Tickets cost £6 for adults, £3 for children and £14 for a family of two adults and two children.

The National Gardens Scheme has donated over £50million to charity since its inception in 1927. Each year, it invites garden owners to open their exceptional gardens to the public for good causes. Find our more at www.ngs.org.uk.
