Boughton’s Exclusive New Venue

25th April, 2014

Northamptonshire’s exquisite Boughton House is expanding its events repertoire with the addition of a luxury function suite.

From Summer 2014, visitors to the exclusive Estate, known as the English Versailles, will have the opportunity to utilise The Tapestry Suite, a new bespoke wedding and events venue.

The elegant new space, situated in an 18th century stable block at the home of the Duke of Buccleuch, will seat up to 100 guests and, as well as  bar, in-house catering facilities and a daytime bridal suite, will feature tapestries hand-selected by the Duke from the renowned Buccluech art collection.

Charles Lister, Boughton House Property Manager, said: “We are delighted to be unveiling our new function space.  The project has been a real labour or love and we believe we’ve created a venue worthy of this wonderful Estate.  Whether it’s a wedding, fundraising ball or conference, Boughton now offers a stylish, indoor setting to cater for all needs.”

Larger parties can also continue to make use of the 16th century House’s Great Court, which provides the perfect setting for marquee-based events for up to 600 guests.

The House, which boasts stunning paintings, tapestries and objets d’art, including the work of Gainborough and Van Dyck, has become a haven for couples seeking a fairy-tale period wedding, after recently opening its doors to non-family nuptials.

Couples can follow in the footsteps of Marius and Cosette from the Oscar-winning film Les Miserables, and tie the knot in Boughton’s Great Hall (with up to 100 guests) under Louis Cheron’s  300-year-old  ‘Marriage of Hercules and Hebe’ ceiling.  And, unlike many other stately homes, Boughton is also licenced to conduct outdoor ceremonies in its stunning colonnade (seating up to 150 guests).

Charles added: “By hosting your event at Boughton you’re becoming part of Buccleuch history and we look forward to sharing our centuries-old heritage and culture with you.”

Only an hour away from London, Boughton House is situated off the A43, allowing easy access for you and your guests.

Its sweeping lawns, private gardens and striking architecture coupled with the relaxed, yet exclusive atmosphere of a family home, ensure Boughton is unlike any other venue.
